|13:00-13:30|**Adam Micolich**|
|13:30-14:00|**Dave Ritchie: Semiconductor quantum devices**|
| |The fabrication, operation and applications of a range of optical and electrical devices will be discussed. These include terahertz quantum cascade lasers, entangled photon sources, and single electron pumps.|
|14:00-14:30|**Paul Meredith: Overview of work and future plans**|
|14:30-15:00|**Sophie Shermer, Karol Kalna: SpinFET simulations and magnetic semiconductors**|
| |We will present a brief review of our bespoke spinFET simulator and some of the interesting results predicted for GaAs spinFETs then move on to our current efforts at building spintronics devices. A crucial prerequisite for the utilization of spin in electronic devices is the availability of spin polarized carriers. Dilute magnetic semiconductors such as Mn doped GaN provide a potential solution. We’ll present a brief summary of preliminary results on doping GaN/AlGaN wafer with Mn by thermal annealing.|
