# Qyber\black
[Qyber\black](https://qyber.black/) is a **network of researchers** working on topics related to **quantum control**. It is run and supported by its members for its members. It is an **open, free platform** to support its members' research and release their results. We provide development, project management, hosting, computing and communication resources.
Most [projects](/explore) are **publicly available** on the site without the need for an account. How to get support for these projects, if available (not all projects may be supported or support may have been stopped), is documented on the project pages and typically does not require an account.

We generally aim to release all our work under a suitable **open source license**, ideally [AGPL](https://www.gnu.org/licenses/agpl-3.0.html), [GPL](https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html) or [FDL](https://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl-1.3.html); some [CC](https://creativecommons.org/share-your-work/) licenses and related [here](https://opensource.org/licenses) or [here](https://choosealicense.com/licenses/), etc. may also be appropriate.

We provide
* devops (development and operations) resources based on [gitlab](https://gitlab.com/);
* computing resources in form of a CPU-centric, heterogeneous [kubernetes](https://kubernetes.io) cluster (kali) and GPU-centric, heterogeneous [nomad](https://www.nomadproject.io/) cluster (hekate) with some additional project and group specific clusters;
* test, internal and external service hosting via a custom implementation linked into the clusters and gitlab;
* communication resources via [mattermost](https://mattermost.com) with a self-hosted [jisti](https://jitsi.org) platform (and [zoom](https://zoom.us) integration).

[Qyber\black](https://qyber.black) is hosted at the [School of Computer Science and Informatics](https://cardiff.ac.uk/computer-science), [Cardiff University](https://cardiff.ac.uk/) on hardware provided by [langbein.org](https://langbein.org/) and some systems from [RIVIC](https://www.rivic.org.uk/) and [COMSC](https://cardiff.ac.uk/computer-science). Some services and hosts are located at [IONOS](https://www.ionos.co.uk/cloud-servers?ac=OM.UK.UKf11K357003T7073a&kwk=frank@langbein.org), [GKE](https://cloud.google.com/kubernetes-engine) and [AWS](https://aws.amazon.com/), as, when and if needed.
